Debra Lord – Autism Specialist | Support Worker | Consultant | Supervisor With over six years of experience in the autism field, Debra Lord combines professional expertise with genuine care (and a well-honed sense of humour). Her work began at Autism New Zealand, where she led support groups, social events, and individual outreach—laying the foundation for her strengths in communication, empathy, and inclusive support. Since then, she’s co-founded an autism-focused company, launched a charity, and taken on multiple roles as a support worker, consultant, and external supervisor. Her approach is holistic and person-centred, guided by respect, empowerment, and practical compassion. Debra holds a BA in Psychology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. She’s especially proud of running a young adult social group for six years—creating a space where connection, confidence, and the occasional superhero debate thrive.
